Fall Hoopdance Class

Find your flow this fall with this 6 week all levels hoopdance class. In each class, we will experiment with specific moves, combinations, and strategies to unlock your creativity within the hoop and facilitate flow and freedom. We will also be moving and flowing with our hoops through some hoop/yoga sequences or exercises designed to stretch, strenghten and tone all areas of the body, as well increase flexibility and balance. Get ready to dance, have fun, and get a full body workout.  All levels of hoopers welcome. Modifications will be made to tailor to your skill level. 

Hoops will be available for class use, or bring your own. Hoops will be available for purchase at each class.

6 Thursdays (Oct. 16 through Nov.20) from 7-8pm at the Green Street Arts Center in Middletown, CT

$80 for the 6 week series, $15 drop in.

Class will be held in a BAREFOOT dance studio, so be prepared to go shoeless!

Pre-registration for the 6 week course is strongly encouraged to ensure that the class will be held.  Space is very limited, so drop-ins will only be accepted if there is space. Please email me the day of class if you are thinking about dropping in.

HoopFit Fall Class Series

Get a new spin on life and fitness with hula-hooping and remember how fun it is to PLAY! This upbeat, aerobic workout blends the invigoration of cardio with a mind-body connection while improving balance, flexibility and core strength. We will hoop at the waist, hips, arms, and off the body while moving and flowing with the hoop.

Burn up to 500 calories an hour while smiling and having fun! A few fancy beginner hoop tricks will also be included in this class series. Hula- hooping is for everyone.... don’t worry if you haven’t picked up a hoop in years! We will be using sturdy, specially designed adult sized hoops are easy and fun to use!

Hooping 101: Rediscover the Pleasure of Play Workshop

Cost: $30

Come smile, have fun, and re-connect with your playful self in this hula-hooping workshop for beginners.
Hooping, or hoopdance, is a joyful way to exercise, meditate, and play while energizing and improving every aspect of your being! In this workshop you will be introduced to the skill of spinning with an adult size, weighted hoop. We will balance out our twirling with a few mini-asana yoga sequences designed to complement our hoop practice.
No experience is necessary. All that is required is an open mind and the willingness to laugh, have fun, and feel amazing in a lighthearted and playful environment! Come play with us!
We will have hoops and yoga mats available for class use, or bring your own. Don't forget your water! We will be working up a sweat!
Please wear comfortable, non slippery clothing with as much exposed skin as possible. Tank tops, cotton shorts or pants are ideal.

Hoop Vinyasa Playshop

Join me in a playshop that seamlessly weaves together two magical forms of meditation and joy: hula hoop dance and vinyasa yoga. Hoop Vinyasa combines basic hoop dance principles with vinyasa yoga se- quences for a fun and challenging class for the body, mind, and spirit!

This fun-filled workshop is for newbies and experienced yogis alike. We use the hoop as a prop for alignment and strength-building in asana and introduce fundamentals of hoop dance for both on and off-body moves, practicing a variety of hand and waist hooping techniques. As we master some hoop tricks, we integrate them into our yoga practice so they come together in a unique flow - pushing new boundaries and finding balance between stillness and movement, focus and fun.
